The Belt Position Control System for Portable Belt Conveyor

The portable belt conveyor used to adopt the tapered idler to correct the belt deviation, because of the contact length had changed between the belt and the idler, utilizing the friction generated among the belt and idler to achieve the belt deviation function. However, it can not ensure the normal and reliable operation of the portable belt conveyor, owing to the limited friction resistance. To the contrary, it will increase the workload of maintenance, inspection times, and adjustment, then lower the operating efficiency of the portable belt conveyor in the end. In order to deal with these difficulties, we design a new-design automatic belt position control system to correct the belt deviation, which will guarantee the reliable and high efficiency of portable belt conveyor running.

In view of the existing technical deficiency of portable belt conveyor, the purpose of kind of automatic belt position control system is focused on the belt deviation, with its compact structure, simple production process, and convenient installation and less maintenance. It consists of the conveyor frame, a pair of control switches, and a telescopic cylinder. The conveyor frame is hinged to the center position of the conveyor bracket by the idler hinge axle, the two control switches are set both sides of the conveyor frame, then the running belt is placed on the conveyor frame which located between two control switches. Next, the telescopic cylinder will be hinged to both sides of the conveyor frame, this device can be replaced by an electric-hydraulic pusher, electric drive pusher, and motor, etc. When the off-track belt touches the control switch, the switch will send out an order to move the telescopic cylinder, which will make the conveyor frame rotate around the hinged shaft, and change the trough angle of the conveyor belt. This is, when the off-track belt touches the first control switch, the telescopic cylinder sticks out. When touching the second switch, the cylinder comes back to its original condition. If the running belt does not touch with any of the switches, the cylinder maintains unmovable. In other words, it will make adjustments accordingly, utilizing the reverse thrust, generated by the conveyor frame and conveyor belt, to achieve the automatic belt correction of portable belt conveyor, and ensure the reliable conveyor operation to satisfy the belt correction demand for any kind of belt conveyor. What’s more, it will greatly improve the operating efficiency, lower the maintenance cost and adjust the workload.
This is a better solution for the portable belt conveyor, just utilizing the reverse thrust to correct the belt deviation. Compacted with the existing technology, it has solved out the deviation problems caused by the impact from the bulk material, installation angle, with the dynamic timely detection, adjustable conveyor idler trough angle automatic and efficient, ensure the portable belt conveyor safe and stable operation. It is especially suitable for the belt conveyor system in port, warehouse, food, medicine, thanks to the simple operation, high operating efficiency, convenient replacement for the belt position control system .
