New Bracket Design for Belt Sway Switch

Because there are serious problems for the existing belt sway switch bracket among current industries belt conveyor systems, and can not timely and effectively prevent the conveying belt from the deviation, but often caused by serious wear and tear of the belt, which became an obstruction of the stable operation for the coal conveying system. The original bracket structure of belt sway switch adopted welded angle iron structure, which an appropriate length of angel iron welding on the side cross beam, while its top weld a certain angle of steel with the open pore.

There are four problems with this form of belt sway switch structure:
A. It’s difficult to adjust the installation height and angle, once the installation complete, the position between belt sway switch and the belt sway switch is fixed, can not be changed and adjusted;
B. It’s difficult to confirm the mounting distance;
C. It’s difficult to repair and replace the belt sway switch;
D. The device is easy to be damaged and maloperation.
Aiming at the defects of the belt sway switch bracket, the new design type is constituted by two stainless steel pipes, one angle iron and steel plate. When installing the belt sway switch wire, it should make the signal cable through the pore and pipe, to prevent the cleaner destroy the cable by clearing the mud. Pulling the cable when connecting wire, and place the contact between the belt sway switch and cable to the inner pipe, to stop the water get into the inside. Thus, it prevents the cable of the belt sway switch from being damaged or broken, and the cable contact would not be filled with water. a. The installation height can be adjusted by the inner pipe inserted into the outer pipe, there are dense pores with 2.5cm center distance, so it has high adjustment accuracy, wide height range; b. The installation angle can be adjusted by fine adjustment, the iron sheet sliding up and down of the inner pipe, and fixed among the pipe pores. Until change the installation angle, adjustment range: 0~90°; c. The mounting distance can be adjusted. The angle steel on the top of the bracket would open a groove hole with 120mm, which the fixed bolt of the belt sway can be slid among the hole to change the distance between the belt sway switch and belt conveyor, in addition, it can lengthen the angle steel and hole to increase the adjustment range; d. It’s convenient to adjust and maintenance. Because the installation angle and height, mounting distance are not affected weld, when the bracket fixed, the parameters can be adjusted. What’s more, it does not need to stop the belt conveyor to repair the belt sway switch, just disassemble of the fixed bolt of the inner pipe, and pull out the pipe, then the belt sway switch can be repaired or replaced.
The new bracket design for the belt sway switch has a long service life, and stable performance, because it can separately replaces the broken belt sway switch components, which save the maintenance cost and increase the service life. At the meantime, the fixed bolt uses the stainless steel material and add spring gasket can effectively keep the bolt from loose when the belt conveyor is running. After all, according to the general operation standard of the belt conveyor, the offset distance is not allowed to exceed the 1/5 belt width, let alone touch the fixed component of the side panel. Only by ensuring the reasonable belt sway switch structure can effectively protect the belt conveyor, and ensuring the normal coal handling operation.
