Belt bucket elevator enhances materials by using friction torque between the bucket belt and the shaft of the main wheel, when the return bucket belt tension is not enough, which will cause the bucket belt skid. At this point, the equipment should immediately stop, and adjust the tension device to tighten the bucket belt. If the tension device cannot completely strain the bucket belt, the trip of the tension device is too short and should be adjusted again. Usually, the solution is to unfasten the connection of the bucket belt, adjust the tension device on the bottom wheel to the highest position, put the bucket belt into the top of belt bucket elevator, pass through the main wheel and the bottom wheel, and connect the head to tail well, so that the bucket belt is in the state of tension.

The shaft installation skew of main wheel and bottom wheel is mainly reflected in the following aspects. First, the transmission shaft of main wheel and bottom wheel is in the same vertical plane and not parallel; Second, the two transmission shafts are installed in the horizontal position and not in the same vertical plane; Three, the two transmission shaft are parallel, and in the same vertical plane, but not horizontal. At this time, the bucket belt deviate, which is easy to cause the impact between the bucket and cylinder, the tear of the bucket belt, and the machine should be shut down immediately for trouble shooting. The shaft of main wheel and bottom wheel should be installed in the same vertical plane, and in a horizontal position. The skew of the bucket belt joint means that the edge of the bucket belt is not on the same line after the combination of the bucket belt. When working, the bucket belt is half the tight and half the loose, which makes the bucket belt move sideways to the tight side, resulting in off-tracking, insufficient material filling in the bucket, incomplete discharge, increased return material, and decreased productivity. In the serious cases, the bucket belt will be jammed and torn, the belt bucket elevator should be stopped at this point and fix the joint and connect it well.

Common faults and solutions---the dropping off of the bucket
Bucket dropping off refers to the phenomenon that the bucket drop off the belt during production. When the bucket drops off, there will be abnormal noise, the machine should be stopped in time for inspection, otherwise, it will cause more buckets deformation and dropping off, and at the location where the bucket is attached, the belt will be torn. There are several reasons for the bucket dropping off.
1. The direct cause of the dropping off and deformation of the bucket is the overmuch feed, which causes the large accumulation of materials in the base, the increase of lifting resistance and the poor operation of the bucket. At this point, the belt bucket elevator should be immediately stopped, pull out the plugboard under the base, discharge the accumulated material in the base, replace the new bucket, and then start production again. And the feeding amount should be reduced and strive for uniformity.
2.The feeding port is too low, when the belt bucket elevator is in the production, the bucket picks up the material coming from the feed port by itself. If the feed port is too low, the bucket will not be able to hold the material, and most of the material will enter the machine base, causing the bucket to scoop up the material. When the material is block, it is easy to cause bucket deformation and dropping off. In this case, the position of the feeding port should be adjusted to above the center line of the bottom wheel.
3.Bucket material is not good and with limited strength. Bucket is the bearing part of the belt bucket elevator, which has a higher requirement for its materials, which should match the material with good strength as far as possible during installation. Generally, the bucket is welded or stamped from ordinary steel plate or galvanized steel plate, and its edges are folded or covered with lead wire to enhance the strength of the bucket.

The belt of the belt bucket elevator is usually the canvas belt, sometimes also using tape and chain. One of the most serious faults is the tendency of the canvas belt and tape to tear due to the combination of all kinds of faults. In general, the bucket is likely to tear due to the deviation of the belt and the dropping off of the bucket. The causes should be timely and fully investigated for trouble shooting. In addition, foreign bodies with sharp edges are mixed into the materials, which will also break the bucket belt. Therefore, in production, wire mesh or magnet should be installed in the feed port to prevent large foreign bodies falling into the base.

The assembly of the pin shaft and the outer plate should be a tight fit, but the actual production and the assembly accuracy can not meet the technical requirements. The clearance fit causes the pin shaft to rotate relative to the outer plate, which grinds off the cotter and causes the outer plate to drop off. In addition, when the belt bucket elevator conveys materials with large mill cut material wear, the hard material particles enter the space between the sleeve and the pin shaft, resulting in abrasive wear. Abrasive wear is the main failure form of the pin shaft and the sleeve, which makes the dropping off the chain.
