 Heavy-duty apron feeder is formed by chain pulling several parts together as a carrier of materials. It is widely used in building materials, coal, metallurgy, mining, chemical industry and other industries, mainly used for feeding hopper to crusher and other transfer equipment. Sometimes there are leakage problems. Some of these problems can be solved by design. However, for fine powder or viscous materials, sometimes unavoidable.In particular, any type of heavy duty apron feeder of sticky materials can not avoid leakage.

The reasons of material leakage of heavy duty apron feeder is that the disadvantage of plate structure. The reason of the first kind of material laekgae is the unreasonable design of circular arc corner of the single-arc plate lap structure, the imperfect design of the chain plate end structure, the unscientific design of the baffle and chain plate corresponding position, and the material that normally overspills the side plate of the protective cover does not have storage device. The reason of the second kind of material is determined by the characteristics of the heavy duty apron feeder itself, which cannot be avoided. During the design, the bearing surface of the chain plate should be as smooth as possible and the elastic sweeper should be set in the appropriate position of the head of the chain plate close to the return trip. But eventually a cleaning device will be added to the bottom of the heavy duty apron feeder. There are many types of cleaning equipment which are widely used in engineering cases.
The integration of cleaning equipment and downstream transport equipment is an ideal process layout, the advantages as following: 1) low cost, the cleaning device only added a heavy duty apron feeder, no driving and that shaft system of head, tail. 2) Greatly reduce the height of the heavy duty apron feeder, reduce the cost; 3) Reducing the lifting height of the head of cleaning device and tail driving, obviously save the energy; 4) low fault, due to the high strength and power of each part of the downstream transport equipment, there will be no cleaning equipment broken chain broken scraper and parts wear fast.
Chain sweeper belongs to the category of lightweight scraper.There are problems in this structure: 1) the tail of the cleaning chain exceeds the tail of the heavy duty apron feeder too little, making the heavy duty apron feeder tail leakage onto the ground; 2) the width of the cleaning chain is too narrow, resulting in heavy duty apron feeder in the middle side of the leakage material accumulation in the cleaning chain and heavy duty apron feeder between the support plate or sprinkled on the ground; 3) clean chain drive or tail shaft bearing is too close to the hopper.
Because drive shaft and stern shaft are straight through the receiving hopper, and the side of the receiving hopper full of materials is very difficult to seal, so easy to cause powder material into the bearing bearing failure. Therefore, the following measures must be taken to set the timing: 1) the tail shaft of the cleaning chain shall move outward by 1,000mm, which has been proved to be very effective in practice.If the material adhesion is particularly serious, the distance can be reduced to 800mm when it is necessary to run synchronously with the heavy duty apron feeder at all times. If the material is not seriously scattered, when the cleaning chain can run intermittently, the distance should be up to 1000mm. If the distance cannot be maintained due to the site, passage and other reasons, a baffle plate must be installed on the heavy duty apron feeder machine frame to prevent the heavy duty apron feeder from dropping materials onto the ground due to the initial speed.
The design width of the apron feeder’s cleaning chain should focus on 4 points: 1) the design of the chain plate should be as wide as possible; 2) clean chain head tail shaft bearing as far as possible away from the receiving hopper; 3) in order to reduce friction and reduce wear, the working side chain plate and the bottom plate of the cleaning chain can adopt 1-2 points of support, wear resistant plate or wear resistant polymer material wear resistant strip is installed on the bottom plate of the cleaning chain at the support position;For the return empty side, a support is designed on the support legs on both sides of the heavy duty apron feeder. On the support, a wear-resistant slide is connected along the length direction of the cleaning chain for the use of the walking wheel on the chain. 4) bearing down inclined installation guide plate, so that the material should not reach the chain pulley;After the distance is widened, the strength of the head and stern shaft, the strength of the chain plate and chain as well as the driving power should be fully considered. The problem with cleaning chains is that the chain breaks.
