The Problems and Improvement Solutions of Sidewall Belt Conveyor

Corrugated sidewall belt covneyor has large inclination angle, large conveying capacity, small floor space, low investment, compact structure and flexible layout and other advantages. It has widely used in metallurgy, coal, power, chemical, construction material, grain and other industries. As the same time, the problems of the shartage of sidewall conveyor belt strength, easy to deviation and material return and leakage are gradually appeared.

The shartage of belt strength and improvement solution
The shartage of belt strength. Corrugated sidewall belt is the improtant part of sidewall belt conveyor. At present, most of plant still using the ordinary rubber belt as the base belt, after bonding the corrugated side and diaphragm, the whole vulcanization is made into corrugated belt. The problem of insufficient stiffness is common in the use of such corrugated sidewall belt.
When the corrugated sidewall belt conveyor running, it requires that the corrugated sidewall belt not only has good strength of extension, but the transverse stiffness and the crosswise of sidewall belt conveyor always is horizonal. Due to the shortage of transverse stiffness, a lot of corrugated sidewall belt are concave in the idler under the return leg, which not only increases the running resistance of the edge-guard machine, but also aggravates the abrasion of the sidewall belt. When the deformation reaches a certain degree, there will be the phenomenon of grinding the edge and knocking the diaphragm between the supporting roller and the belt pressing wheel, or even derailment at the belt pressing wheel in the convex and concave arcs, resulting in the shutdown.
Improvement solution of the belt strength
Iproveing the transverse stiffness of base belt
In order to reduce the transverse deformation of the sidewall belt and increase its transverse stiffness. According to the actually situation, a part of manufacturer put forward the following improvement solutions: (1) in the core of the baseband, add a special strengthening layer; (2) improve the base belt rubber polymer structure of the vertical and horizontal arrangement, so that it has a flexible longitudinal, lateral stiffness; (3) improve the base band liner layer arrangement; (4) increase the thickness of the baseband.
Increasing the non-deformabilityof diaphragm
In order to redece the deformation of corrugated sidewall belt conveyor’s diaphragm, the following solution will be put out: (1) choose the hardness of rubber plate as the diaphragm material; (2) increase the lining cloth layer or choose with skeleton diaphragm; (3) when the height of the diaphragm more than 200 mm, the diaphragm inserted into the two side of the ripple, and in the outside of the edge with nylon pad, screw the diaphragm and the edge of the joint.
Improving the structural form of the corrugated sidewall belt
The reinforcing rib is added on the outside of the rectangular side of the corrugated sidewall belt, which makes it have greater support strength and longitudinal and transverse stability. In addition, the rectangular edge can disperse its tensile tension at the turning points A and B, so that it can reduce deformation during operation and improve the fatigue resistance of compression and tension, which can not only improve the transverse stiffness of the base band, but also keep the longitudinal softness of the base belt.
